It’s not just Apple and Tesla Motors that are bringing in electric scooters.

Hero MotoCorp is working on a range of new electric two-wheeler. The company is planning to bring in more electric scooters and motorcycles next year in India.

The Indian two-wheeler manufacturer is already hard to create the next generation of electric scooters to cater to the unique Indian market.

According to news reports, the company had showcased the Duet and Maestro electric scooters a few years ago. So there’s a chance that one of these scooters could make its official debut next year.

But there’s also a chance of bringing in a brand new design and brand next year. The company recently joined hands with Gogoro, a Taiwanese-based company that had developed battery-swapping stations in multiple countries.

Hero MotoCorp’s effort will include setting up a separate dealership network to push new EV models and operating its charging stations.

The company has spent 600 crores in FY21, and for FY22, they are outlining the numbers.

Hero will use the investments to set up manufacturing facilities for batteries and develop other technologies related to electric vehicles.
