Electric scooters are a popular form of transportation in Europe, where riders often commute over short distances.
Thanks to their small size, ease of use and relative affordability, these vehicles have quickly found a strong market in Europe as well.
In addition to smaller companies making electric scooters for the European market, some large companies have also started to step in.
The European electric scooter market is a competitive one. As such, Horwin needed an experienced full-service design firm that could help them stand out from their competitors while at the same time offering them a cost-effective solution.
The company announced that they are expanding their lineup with a new electric scooter, called SK3. Like its other siblings, the SK3 is manufactured in China by an undisclosed partner.
For the 2022 model year, Horwin has released a new electric scooter that aims to strike the right balance between simplicity and functionality.
The SK3 is a nimble, practical vehicle that puts function ahead of form. Its design is sporty but essential, with modern amenities.
Specs
It features full LED lighting as well as a digital LCD instrument panel. The scooter also gets built-in cruise control.
At just 115 kilograms (253 pounds), it’s an approachable option for first-time commuters and an effortless ride for those who’ve been around the block.
So, how does the SK3 stack up against its competitors? It has a maximum range of 80 kms (49 miles). The top speed of SK3 is 56 mph (90 km/h) matches up well with the Urban models.
All this arrives via an electric motor with 6.2 kW of peak power and 3.1 kW of continuous power supported by a 72V, 36Ah lithium-ion battery pack that can go up to 80 kilometres, or 49 miles of range in a single charge.
The excellent part is that you can charge the scooter with the help of a standard electrical outlet with the use of a built-in 8A charger.
Commuters looking for long hauls can buy a secondary battery that fits in under-seat storage compartment.
The $4,509 (3,990 Euros) price tag might be more expensive than some other options on the market, but you can’t put a price on sound design.
If you want to look good while riding your scooter, you have to pay extra.
Further, Horwin also plans to launch the SK1, which comes at $4,170 ( 3,690 Euros).
