 All about the new 2021 Kawasaki ZX-10R

Kawasaki has unveiled the new version of 2021 ZX-10R. And we have been continuously talking about the new ZX-10R. 

Further, the leaked homologated documents filed in Australia before few days had revealed the specs. Therefore the new ZX-10R was no secret.

The new 2021 ZX-10R comes refined to keep in pole position on track and head of the pack on the road.

Now we get a chance to take a closer look at ZX-10R.

Motor

The 998 cc, liquid-cool, 16 valve, 4-stroke in-line four calibrates to make 149.3 kW {203 hp}/ 13,200 rpm and maximum power with ram air 156.8 kW {213 PS} / 13,200 rpm and 114.9 Nm {11.7 kgf.m} / 11,400 rpm.

 

The motor comes with finger followers. Essentially it means the valves are open longer and more significant duration to generate more power. The brain of the bike, which is IMU, controls the engine.

It also has a valve train which is significantly lighter than the standard valve chain—integrated with six-speed cassette gearbox which is a racing feature. 

The engine now complies with Euro5 norms and offer cleaner emissions while maintaining the performance of its predecessor.

Design, Aerodynamics and Electronic package

The front comes inspired by the H2. The small LEDs and the compact front comes integrated with massive air intake. The winglets allow 17% more downforce due to having winglets.  

 

The aerodynamic package allows more incredible grip, more useful feedback and more excellent contact of the tyre. The rear seat comes with the design change, and it creates are of low pressure.

The screen is 40mm higher so the rider can tuck in more with those wide handlebars. Additionally, there is a new oil-cooled oil cooler and new handlebar positioning.

Further, it gets the new side fairing with a large tail. Both the sides now come with single large openings.

 

A slipper clutch and assist slipper clutch and its got an up-down quick shifter. Things you would only expect on the race bikes. There’s a lot of Superbike technology involved. 

Presence of adjustable engine braking adds value to the package. The nee ZX-10R arrives with selectable riding modes Sport, road, rain and rider (Manual). 

It further features cruise control. Once activated, the rider does not have to apply the throttle continually. 

Brakes and Suspension

When it comes to brakes, it gets the Brembo M50 monobloc, opposed 4-piston at the front and single 220 mm disc calliper: single-piston at the rear.

The suspensions are 43 mm inverted balance free front fork with the external compression chamber at the front, and the opposite end comes with horizontal Back-link with BFRC lite gas-charged shock.
