On all the fronts we know Bajaj and KTM are going aggressive. While electric is something, we are talking here.
In July we did receive a glimpse of KTM’s sketch about its electric scooter.
The latest sketch submitted indicates this is a different project on the electromobility. The objective is to target riders as young as 16 to the old age of 60.
However, from the sketch, we could analyze the lightweight electric scooter gets sportiness and carries the orange DNA of KTM.
We understand since last year about both KTM and Bajaj are working on the new EV platform.
And to extend now, we could also see the electric Husqvarna. Wow.
The information comes from the investor presentation, which says the electric bike by name ‘ E- Pilen ‘ is the plan to arrive in 2022.
What more the E-Pilen will be made at Bajaj’s Chakan plant based in Pune, India.
The ‘E-Pilen’ will come in two different variants with 4kW and 10kW output respectively. Sure thing the ‘ E- Pilen ‘ will be exported and we could also see it in International markets.
We also understand both these motorcycle giants are working on a common electric platform which will get motorcycles from 3kW to 10kW using a 48V electric system.
Bajaj Chetak was the first electric scooter from Bajaj, and it was unveiled last year in India.
Well, we could see more coming from these two manufacturers.
