Scottish Star

Moto Guzzi has tapped legendary Scottish star and all-around cool guy Ewan McGregor as its new brand ambassador for Moto Guzzi, the V100 Mandello. The Scottish actor will continue promoting Moto Guzzi’s retro Italian styling and impeccable performance in the Moto Guzzi-owned motorcycle brand. Numerous celebrities have shown an affinity for going against the grain and picking something “different” over crowds of others.

Ewan McGregor has had some significant roles. If you haven’t seen his work, chances are you’ve at least heard of the franchise he’s most well-known for: Star Wars. He’s played Obi-Wan Kenobi, a mentor to the main character in the entirety of the Star Wars series. As one of the best actors in Hollywood, and even the world today, it makes sense that Ewan not only has roles as a great actor but also as a writer and director.

His collection

The Scottish actor is not only a well-renowned celebrity, but he also has a soft spot for Moto Guzzi bikes. He owns a 1974 Moto Guzzi El Dorado and the V7 Sport. And some of his bikes are featured in videos.

He talks about his love for Moto Guzzi, the brand he chose to ride and the experiences he had while cruising around the world with Moto Guzzi.

The video shows him riding the new bike at speed along a few iconic locations, including Lloy Wright’s Malibu home, the Pacific Coast Highway, and the L.A. River.

The video

We see how the bike comes alive with its active aero, which is shown seamlessly extending from the windscreen when needed through small touches such as flaps on either side of the bike to help channel air around McGregor on his journey along some rugged terrain.

The partnership between the vintage motorcycle maker and the Renaissance man is a natural extension of our brand. Ewan McGregor’s life has been a journey of discovery – from a suburban Scottish childhood to taking Hollywood and now to exploring the great unknown worldwide.
