Last June, we had information about KTM and Bajaj are collaboratively working on a conventional electric platform. And as per details from Bajaj, the prototype is already in progress.
The platform is known by the name” EV” and gets a 48-volt technology and will also help to reproduce smaller scooter segments as well as mopeds.
The other side of the game, manufactured in India KTM will unveil the electric scooters by 2020 end.
Last year the government of India had announced the two-wheelers below 150cc from 2025. And three-wheel auto-rickshaws from 2023 to be emission-free, and they may well go electric.
As KTM has already revealed the electric scooter in 2013 with E- Speed Concept we heard last year about Bajaj already carrying out few tests on the electric scooter. And the scooter may get the name as ‘ Urbanite’.
The latest sketch submitted indicates this is a different project on the electromobility. The objective is to target riders as young as 16 to the old age of 60.
However, from the sketch, we could analyze the lightweight electric scooter gets sportiness too and carries the orange DNA of KTM.
We are not sure about the date as to when the scooter will arrive in the market. However, the design looks exceptionally optimistic, and we hope it is all set to come shortly.
