The Spanish startup Urbet has come to the mainstream market with its own electric motorcycle, the Lora Concept. The bike is an exciting interpretation of what an all-electric two-wheeler should look and feel like.

The company says it wants to offer riders “the possibility of enjoying travel in complete freedom”. Even though its actual selling point would be performance – and there’s where most electric bikes fail to deliver.

If you can get past the styling, the Lora Concept isn’t bad in that department.

In comes Spanish startup Urbet. Which has sought to further revolutionize the electric two-wheeler market by creating an electric scooter that feels like a motorcycle.

The company’s new electric scooter is appropriately named the Lora. And it’s a lovely looking thing.

Sure, it’s got a few standard features. Such as an elevated seating position, but on the whole, it looks a lot more like something out of Star Wars.

Lora

The only major electric motorcycle manufacturer operating in Europe is Spanish startup Urbet. Their latest offering. The Urbet Lora, represents a new kind of “fun” riding experience that ditches the sharp edges and angular lines of razor-focused street bikes.

Available with two wheels, the Urbet Lora is a neo-retro vehicle that takes cues from various iconic motorcycles of the 20th century while incorporating modern technology. Urbet has already sold electric scooters like Ego and Nura.

Both visually and performance-wise, it seems as if Urbet’s new Lora is trying to tread a fine line between bikes at either end of the performance spectrum. Like the Husqvarna’s forthcoming E-Pilen on the other.

Simple idea

The concept revolved heavily around simplicity: it was built with the idea of creating something that would be easy to ride and maintain. The model also had a futuristic theme to it. Quite simply, it looked like something out of a science fiction movie.

Regarding performance specs, we will see two versions, standard and high spec version S. With the latter having the capability to achieve 150 kms ( 93 mph) as top speed.

125cc electric two-wheeler will suit A1 or B license holders and have an almost 300 excellent km range.

Urbet will unveil its ambitious project, Lora, at Malaga Motorcycle Show starting May 13, 2022.
