Honda has made updates to its three 2022 500cc models.

The Honda CB500F, R, and X also get Showa rear shock absorbers with adjustable preload, though the non-X version is an SFF-BP unit.

 Brakes are another significant focus for all three 500s, with Bosch 9MP ABS standard across the range.

The CB500X gets 135mm of front suspension travel, which is just over 5.3 inches.

While the 2022 CB500F and CB500R features the Y Spoke aluminium alloy front wheels that are lighter. At the same time, the CB500X does get the lightweight 19-inch spoked front wheel.

Braking duties on these three bikes are performed by a 296mm dual wave brake disc on the front wheel while the opposite gets radially-mounted Nissin callipers.

The new CB500s’ design is something you’ll immediately recognize as belonging to the Honda family. 

Some slight changes are in line with the latest models, including a robust and light new swingarm.

Honda has made changes in the thickness of the steel, so instead of 2.3mm steel, they have used 2mm steel for construction with a hollow cross-member design.

It has helped Honda to reduced considerable weight. The engine gets updated mapping for all three bikes that boost torque in the middle of the rev range with 46.9 horsepower at 8,600 rpm and 31.7 pound-feet of torque at 6,500 rpm.  

As for the paint schemes, you got it right all three get new paint schemes.

2022 CB500F

  • Pearl Smoky Gray, 
  • Mat Axis Gray Metallic, and 
  • Pearl Dusk Yellow

CB500X

  • Matt Gunpowder Black Metallic and 
  • Pearl Organic Green 

CB500R

  • Matt Gunpowder Black Metallic with updated graphics

Further, all these three bikes are also available in Grand Prix Red.
