According to the latest report from Mobility Outlook, Yamaha Motor India plans to introduce its new middleweight motorcycles in the Indian market after 2023. In an interview with Eishin Chihana, Chairman of Yamaha Motor India Group of Companies, he mentioned that the company aims to introduce limited YZF-R7 and MT-07 motorcycles.

Arrival

Chihana stated that after a few years, customers who have owned the YZF-R3 and MT-03 models will be looking for a step-up bike, and Yamaha plans to fulfil this demand by offering limited numbers of the R7 and MT-07 models. The company intends to create a step-up structure for new customers between 2023 and 2030, with a range of stylish, sporty, and exciting bikes to fuel aspiration.

Confirmation

Chihana confirmed the arrival of the YZF-R3 and MT-03 motorcycles in the current fiscal year. These motorcycles have already been showcased to dealers in the Indian market, and some dealers have even started accepting unofficial bookings for these products.

Competitors

The YZF-R7 will be a competitor to motorcycles such as the Kawasaki Ninja 650 and Honda CBR 650R, while the MT-07 will be pitted against the Kawasaki Z650 and Triumph Trident 660. The YZF-R7 and MT-07 middleweight models from Yamaha have a 689cc twin-cylinder engine, which delivers 73bhp at 8,750rpm and 67Nm of torque at 6,500rpm.
