Folks from Rushlane has spotted what we see as electric Suzuki Burgman.
The electric market is getting momentum in India while Bajaj already has electric scooter’ Chetak’.
And then KTM in collaboration with Bajaj is building one. In July 2020 we were able to see the sketch of the upcoming scooter.
As well in February 2020, we did receive a hint.
- In 2018, President of Suzuki Motorcycle India, Satoshi Uchida, worked on an electric scooter platform and said in India Suzuki will introduce its electric scooter in 2021.
- Plus there was a patent too.
Now the spy shots clearly show Suzuki has plans to bring the electric scooter shortly. The prototype spotted had a white paint scheme, and it was without camouflage.
As far as the specs go well, they remain hidden, but then if we compare it with the electric Chetak, the Chetak has an output of 4080 W, close to 4 kW.
So if we feel the electric Burgman will have similar output in the range of 4kW to 6kW, further again unlike Chetak, the Burgman may get the Lithium-Ion battery.
However, we hope it should take less charging time as Chetak takes around 5 hrs for a single charge.
Other features will include halogen headlights with some fancy rear light and blinkers as you see in the spy shot.
Chetak comes with the 70 kmph we expect the same from the electric Burgman.
We also expect digital odometer, trip meter and the speedometer on the new electric Burgman. The electronic package will also include smart connectivity.
A single charge should cover at least 95 km. To add more, it will also have alloy wheels and tubeless tires.
If priced well, the electric Burgman will get an advantage over its rival. We expect the price to be well over Rs. 1 Lakh (ex-showroom).
