At the start of November 2020, we did say Kawasaki isn’t sitting ideal. Correct we are talking about the new 2021 ZX-10R and ZX-10RR.

And a couple of days ago we did saw Jonathan Rea testing the 2021 winter test ZX-10RR model at Jerez.

Now we did see the first photos of the new 2021 Kawasaki ZX-10R.

The 998c 2020 2021 ZX-10R calibrates 200hp at 13500 rpm and 2020 ZX-10RR comes with 201 hp at 13500rpm.

From the pictures, the callipers and forks are similar to the current variants, which are Brembo callipers and Shows balance free front fork.

The front gets compact compared to the current 2020 version.

Frame too looks very similar. Different weight remains the same compared to the current variant, which is  427.7 pounds which is 194kg.

However, there are rumours the conventional road variant of 2021 ZX-10RR may get less firepower.

Comparison of the 2020 ZX-10R with 2021 ZX-10R

  • The new 2021 ZX-10R comes with a more lengthy exhaust and has the magnesium finish.
  • The front is definitely a change the new ZX-10R comes with more compact twin headlight compared to the current 2020 variant.
  • The new 2021 ZX-10R will come with the Euro5 engine, and we feel the exhaust is elongated for the same reason. Will Kawasaki drop the power is the question?
  • While both the shapes are aerodynamic, we see there is a bit of change at the rear.
  • The windshield in the new ZX-10R looks to be more straight compared to the curvy windshield of 2020 ZX-10R.
  • Although the rear swingarm of 2021 ZX-10R hides behind the exhausts, we do feel there may be a change.
