In 2104 KTM Boss Stefan Piere told the german magazine Speed Week about building KTM RC16 replica.
The idea was to bring the machine at an economical cost of 120,000 euros. And in the recent spy shot we assume, Speed Week gave a glimpse of the RC 16 prototype.
As per Speed week, KTM is working on the V-Twin 890cc race machine it could be MotoGP replica or an RC 890 R.
The plan was to bring a street-legal bike like Honda’s RC213V-S.
“We want to build at least 100 pieces and offer this product at a very affordable price.
This motorcycle will not be street legal; the intentions are for closed racetracks. We want to be as close as possible to MotoGP bikes when it comes to engine performance.
Of course, it won’t be 270 hp, but you have to reckon with 240 hp.
I want to get a much lower price for this production racer than what Honda is offering. I would like to see the bike going for 100,000 or 120,000 euros. Affordable racing is our philosophy.”
Further Speed Week says the current prototype engine is altogether different from the new 890 Duke R.
However, there are not many details available or is KTM trying to bring the new RC 890.
The mystery is intriguing, but we, on the other hand, are rather excited to see this model from KTM.
