It was not clear if Alvaro Bautista was to stay in WSBK as rumors of him joining MotoGP were strong because KTM was looking for Johann Zarco’s replacement. However, now it is confirmed that he will stay in WSBK but race with his new team i.e Honda.
This has put an end to rumors of Bautista moving to MotoGP. The HRC WSBK team will be based in Barcelona and Bautista will get a new weapon in the form of upcoming CBR1000RR.
The news comes from the Portimao WSBK event whereby Honda renewed the contracts of few and for others, they will have to move. The entire team will be reorganized. The HRC WSBK team will be based in Barcelona and form an alliance with Repsol Honda MotoGP Team.
The WSBK factory team will have Takumi Takahashi and Alvaro Bautista. With Honda Alvaro Bautista will have an opportunity to ride the new CBR1000RR that is expected to be unveiled soon with inline-four engines and with more firepower of 220 horses.
The new Honda Fireblade CBR1000RR will be unveiled in Tokyo Motor Show at the end of October.Now the real fun is to watch what strategy does Ducati has in place?
