The all-new 2022 Honda CBR1000RR-R SP is a special-edition sportbike that celebrates the 30th anniversary of Honda’s vaunted Fireblade series and mark’s the Belgian’s Spa Circuit’s 100th anniversary. The bike is based on the current Fireblade and boasts significant few upgrades.

DG Sports, a Belgian organization that organizes track days and events, will build the Honda CBR1000RR-R Spa 100 as a track-only weapon. Due to be introduced in 2022.

The modern-day Fireblade began there, and in many ways, its identity is shaped by the success of that race. So for DG Sports to build the commemorative bike for its centenary, we have to say it was a perfect pairing.

Specs

It has the same 215-hp inline-four, aluminium diamond frame, and aerodynamic bodywork, but on top, it gets enhanced mid-range power, corner stability, and corner-exit speed.

The Spa 100th Anniversary model will feature all the new improvements announced for Honda’s premium sportbike, focusing on racing and the track. However, it won’t get the road-legal mirrors, ABS, and indicators.

Further, Mario Kupper, is race bike specialist, will provide the bike with adjustable rear seats and a new clip-on.

The special edition will get the Öhlins 43mm fork cartridge and Öhlins TTX rear shock. An Öhlins steering damper, Brembo Corsa Corta front master cylinder and new steel-braided brake lines for braking duties.

The liquid-cooled, 998cc inline-four will also get an HRC engine management system and loom. Arrow exhaust to breathe fire, and it does mean it will lose weight and gain power.

Effective Dunlops to suit the track, and of course, the bike will also have a new hand brake guard and GBRacing engine protectors.

We are unsure how many units DG Sports would build; however, the special Spa edition will be more expensive with the standard CBR1000RR-R SP retailing for $28,500.
