Royal Enfield is the buzzword, and it is due to multiple reasons the company from 2018 is going strong in Europe. Now it is looking forward to entering the electric motorcycle space.

However, the news started from 2018, wherein Rudratej Singh, President of Royal Enfield, announced their ambitious plans to bring its first electric motorcycle by 2024.

As per the Research and Markets report, European electric two-wheeler market stood at over $ 81 million in 2017 and will grow at a CAGR of more than 12%, to surpass $ 166 million by 2023.

These are a few ambitious figures, and Royal Enfield would like to take a pie within the section of $ 166 million.

However this we are talking about Europe for the entire glove the figure will is huge.

Now, this doesn’t mean Royal Enfield will not focus on its existing segments like the newly arrived Meteor 350 or Himalayan or Continental GT 650.

In fact, in the last few days, Royal Enfield has brought the limited edition Himalayan Adventure.

Well, to take the Royal Enfield’s electric adventure to the next level in the recent past Classic cars also had a built an electric Royal Enfield Bullet by name ‘ Photon’.

A few months ago, we saw Vinod Dasari, CEO Royal Enfield, talking about his ambitious plans to Moneycontrol.com. 

The goal is to set up a team to come up with electric motorcycle prototypes. Right now, we understand the phase-in in progress to evaluate under which segment these electric models will come. 

As we go ahead, we will have more details. The goal is to bring the first electric motorcycle by 2024. And there is a reason for it.  

As per Government announcement in India, the 150cc displacement motorcycles are to be discontinued from 2021. Well in future it may also happen with larger displacement motorcycles 

Now this paves the way for the electric scooters and motorcycles. With its skills and capabilities, we are sure Royal Enfield has an ambitious road ahead.

Plus they do have some good low displacement ADV like the Royal Enfield Himalayan 2021 with

  • Horsepower: 17.88kw (24.3HP) /6,500rpm/24.5HP/6,500rpm.
  • Exhaust gas regulations: BS6 (equivalent to EURO5) / BS4 (equivalent to EURO4 ).
  • By weight (90% Fuel): 199Kg / 194Kg.
