Yamaha motorcycles plan to enter the Indian market with an all-new sports-tourer model if the rumour mills are believed.

This report comes only months after Yamaha has registered the Tracer trademark in India.

They will enter India with the Tracer 900, a high-capacity sport-tourer with an expected price above Rs. 10 lakh (ex-showroom).

The Japanese manufacturer already retails the flagship Tracer 900 in other Asian and European markets under the same name tag.

900GT

The Yamaha Tracer 900GT is one of the choices of sports tourer offered in the Malaysian market.

Although it a much cheaper option than its main rivals, it is certainly not lacking in its features or performance.

It makes an excellent value for money for any motorcyclist. Who wants to grab a sporty motorbike that offers both comfort and agility as well as reliability.

Specs and expected BS6 specs

Like its other competitors, the 900GT comes with features such as cruise control, tire pressure monitoring system, traction control, LED’s, adjustable windscreen, TFT console, and slip control for safer riding.

The Tracer 900GT arrives with an 847cc liquid-cooled, inline three-cylinder engine that calibrates to 113.45bhp at 10000rpm and 87.5Nm 8500rpm.

The same 847cc SOHC inline-Triple cylinder liquid-cooled engine powers the popular Yamaha MT series model like the MT-09.

We expect Yamaha will employ an electronic fuel injection (EFI) system with a more precise throttle response.

Expect the BS6 to put out about 113.45 bhp of maximum power at 10000 rpm, while maximum torque comes pegged at 87.5 Nm at a range of 8500 rpm.
